About
A family campground, run by a family.
Brian and Barbara Allaire run Mio Pine Acres. We're not a chain. We're not corporate. We've welcomed some of the same families every summer for over three decades.
One campground, one mile west of Mio.
We're on M-72, a mile west of downtown Mio. Six cabins, RV and tent sites, a yearly seasonal section, an ORV staging area, the camp store with pizza, and the woods.
The campground sits on pine acres, which is where the name comes from. The Au Sable River runs a mile south. Oscoda County's regional ATV and ORV trail network is right out the back gate.
Why it works the way it does
The campers who book here come back because we know them. Brian and Barbara are at the campground every day in season. The same kid who learned to ride a bike on these dirt roads now brings their own kids back.
We're not trying to be a resort. We don't have a water park or a $14 cocktail. What we have is a clean, well-run family campground where you can let your kids ride their bikes around without checking in on them every fifteen minutes.
Memberships
We're a member of ARVC Michigan (Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds) and Camp Michigan. Both keep us connected to other family-run Michigan campgrounds and to the state DNR.
Open
May 1 – October 15
One open season. We close for the winter, the trails and the river don't wait for snow plows.
